Script Coverage

Coverage is a very specific form of full-script evaluation used by producers and film studios to decide whether to read a script themselves.

It involves a logline for your script, a synopsis, comments, analysis based on specific elements (dialog, character etc), and a recommendation. Recommendation is either pass, consider, or recommend. Pass means fail! Pass on the script. But recommend means the executive should read the script. Consider means…maybe.

Coverage is an option that can be added when submitting to the competition. The coverage will be blunt and truthful – it’s a professional process – not one designed to stroke your ego. But coverage can be used to get a better idea of your script’s strengths and weaknesses from an impartial knowledgeable reader.
